Lindale sits in northern Smith County along Interstate 20 and US 69, north of Tyler, and it has grown quickly with new neighborhoods alongside older homes near downtown. Storms are a real part of life here: an EF-2 tornado touched down near Lindale on April 29, 2016, on a 27-mile track, and flash flooding hit roads around Lindale and Garden Valley that same night.
