Garden Valley is home. Our crew lives and works out of this crossroads community in northwestern Smith County, so when a neighbor calls, we are usually just down the road.
Garden Valley sits at the intersection of State Highway 110 and FM 16, about seven miles west of Lindale. It was settled in the 1850s, once shipped fruit and cotton by rail from Lindale, and today it is a quiet rural community of homes, farms and acreage. Its school was consolidated into Van ISD back in 1952, so a lot of local life runs between Garden Valley, Van and Lindale.
Homes here range from older farmhouses and pier-and-beam houses to newer builds on acreage, plus plenty of barns, shops and outbuildings. That mix means a little of everything: leveling a settled floor, fencing and gates, metal roofs on shops, decks and porches, and a lot of power washing after pine pollen season.
